Description:

Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX), also known as co-trimoxazole among other names, is an antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It consists of one part trimethoprim to five parts sulfamethoxazole.
It works by blocking the making of folate by the bacteria.
It is effective against gram +ve & gram ve infections. It is the drug of choice for respiratory, gastro intestinal & urogenital infections.

Indications and Usage:

This medicine combats a broad range of diseases, such as urinary tract infection, alimentary tract infection, local & general infection, respiratory tract infections.
