Description:

This medication contains vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids. It is used to treat or prevent a lack of these nutrients during pregnancy or due to poor diet or certain illnesses. Vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids are important building blocks of the body and help keep you in good health.

This combination product may contain folic acid. Women who are or may become pregnant should maintain adequate levels of folic acid through either diet or supplements to prevent spinal cord birth defects.

Indications and Usage:

Calcium-
Calcium is used for treatment and prevention of low calcium levels and resulting bone conditions including osteoporosis (weak bones due to low bone density), rickets (a condition in children involving softening of the bones), and osteomalacia (a softening of bones involving pain). Calcium is also used for premenstrual syndrome (PMS), legcramps in pregnancy, high blood pressure in pregnancy (pre-eclampsia), and reducing the risk of colon and rectal cancers.

Vitamin D3-
Cholecalciferol is a vitamin D3. Vitamin D is important for the absorption of calcium from the stomach and for the functioning of calcium in the body.
Cholecalciferol is used to treat or prevent many conditions caused by a lack of vitamin D, especially conditions of the skin or bones.

Omega-3
Omega-3 fatty acids are thought to help reduce the risk of heart disease and also to promote healthy skin. They are also used along with diet and exercise to help lower levels of a certain blood fat (triglyceride) and to raise levels of "good" cholesterol(HDL). This product may also be used to help treat high blood pressure or rheumatoid arthritis.
